NCL 2015

The National Cadet League and the National Junior League are tournaments organised by the English Table Tennis Association for players in the Under-15 and Under-18 age groups respectively.   The games take place at 18 centres over the course of four Sundays.

In the absence of cadet and junior tournaments within Hertfordshire, SLTTCC entered two teams in the National Cadet League for the 2014-15 season, with games being held at the Westfield TT centre in Wellingborough.    The teams were aptly named St Albans Side Spinners A and B, and competed in NCL divisions 3 and 4 respectively.

On the final day of the season (8th March) both teams saw off opposition from Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and further afield to consolidate their position at the top.

Side Spinners A consisting of Andy, Sam, Andre and Daniel were unbeaten on the day, winning all three of their matches and dropping only 3 out of 27 sets.

Side Spinners B had stiffer opposition on the day and were without their number 1 player, Louie.  However the rest of the team - Chris, George and Tom - stepped up their game winning 2 matches and narrowly losing 1 match.  The aggregated results over days 3 and 4 meant they won the 4th Division.   See below for the final league tables.

The A team will be promoted to division 2 for the new season beginning in September 2015, and the B team to division 3.
