CLUB DETAILS

We are a table tennis club based in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Our aim is to provide table tennis playing and coaching facilities for players of all ages, especially young people. New members are especially welcome.

Sessions take place on Friday evenings from 7:00 pm until 8:45 pm at St Albans Girls' School (STAGS) in Sandridgebury Lane (off Harpenden Road), AL3 6DB.

The cost is £7 per person per session.

No special clothing is required except for gym shoes or trainers and lightweight comfortable clothing, tracksuits or sports clothes. No white or orange tops or jeans please, as these make it difficult for opponents to sight the ball.

NEWS

The next Club Night will take place on Friday 19th April.

Please note that all table tennis sessions will be held in the Assembly Hall and Dining Room until further notice.

This is because the Sports Hall will be set out for school exams for the foreseeable future.

Details of all upcoming events can be found in the latest Newsletter which you can view by clicking the button below.

You will also find a schedule of future club sessions by clicking the Future Events button at the top right of this page

LADDER COMPETITION

This competition is open to all our players and monitors their progress over the course of the season. Players are allocated a handicap based on their ability and past performance, with the leading players being those with the smallest handicap. Competitors aim to reduce their handicap by beating competitors of a similar standard and thereby move up the ladder.

SAM WALKER

Sam Walker

Sam Walker is England's No 4 ranked table tennis player. He travels all around the world to play in international competitions including the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. He is pictured above with Head Coach Peter Jenkin.

Sam offers coaching sessions at a cost of £80 an hour. In order to make this cost manageable for individual members, coaching sessions are shared between up to 8 trainees, each paying £10 per session (in addition to the regular £7 entrance fee).

Sam has been busy with competitions and other commitments this year so has only been able to hold one coaching session so far. However there will be more in due course, about which further information will be posted here shortly.

You can read a news sheet containing details of Sam's coaching sessions and how to apply by clicking on the button below.
